A new family-friendly festival is to take place at a village in the Pocklington area.
The two-day event, called Wilberfest, will be held on Saturday 4 and Sunday 5 August at Wilberfoss.
Wilberfest will showcase some of the best tribute acts in the country set in the five acres at the Pavilion venue.
This year’s line up contains no fewer than five national tribute award winning acts, while six of the acts are touring theatre productions.
This has been made possible due to the fact that the two people who are behind Wilberfest are multi-award winning international performers themselves.
Chris Hindle and Gareth Davey are the front men of The Chicago Blues Brothers, a theatre production that has toured the world from Dubai to Poland, Norway to Latvia playing arenas, concert halls and theatres.
The pair have used their extensive connections and relationships within the theatre world to bring some of the UK’s best tribute acts to Wilberfest.
Gareth Davey said: “We want Wilberfest to be two days of music that has something for everyone, we also want the event to be a family festival where young and old alike can come and listen to great live music played by the UK’s best.
“We have more than five acres to ensure that there is plenty of space to relax in the Summer sun in a safe and secure setting, with great food and pub drink prices and lot’s of other surprises, it’s shaping up to be two days of fun.”
Chris Hindle added: “We have selected acts and music that appeals to a wide audience, we have purposely targeted a broad range of genres that most people will know and love. The crowd will be able to dance and sing along to some of history’s biggest music anthems played live in concert.”
