Thali owners to pay up to £18k in fines and costs for not keeping restaurant clean

The proprietors of an Indian tapas restaurant in Pocklington have to up to pay up to £18,000 in fines and costs after a court heard that they had a poor record of keeping the restaurant clean.

Syed Muthekin, of Normandy Place, Leeds and Mohammed Shofi Ahmed, Trentham Avenue, Leeds, who own Thali restaurant, on Railway Street, pleaded guilty at Beverley Magistrates’ Court on 2 April to seven offences of failing to comply with food hygiene regulations.
