A MUSIC teacher who worked at a Pocklington school is due to appear in court charged with having a sexual relationship with a pupil.
Craig Parkin has been charged with five counts of sexual activity with a girl under 15.
He has also been charged with two counts of abusing a position of trust by engaging in sexual activity with a pupil aged under 17.
The 26-year-old was a teacher at Woldgate College, in Kilnwick Road, at the time of the offences.
Mr Parkin is due to appear at Beverley Magistrates’ Court today, 18 August.
A spokesperson for Humberside Police confirmed Mr Parkin is on police bail awaiting the court hearing.
A spokesperson for East Riding Council told the Post he is currently suspended.
Woldgate, which specialises in art, is one of the best performing secondary schools in the East Riding at GCSE and A-level.
It has 1,353 pupils aged 11 to 18.
