A £2.5 million jewel will be the subject for the next meeting of the Pocklington and District Local History Group.
Dr Kate Giles of York University tells the story of the finding and purchase by the Yorkshire Museum and the subsequent investigation of the Middleham Jewel. She will explain the current thinking on the link with Richard III and why the jewel is thought to have belonged to a lady. The meeting will be in the Old Courthouse on George Street, Pocklington, at 7.30pm on Thursday 25 September. There is a £2 admission charge and all are welcome. Email Andrew Sefton at email@example.com if you have any information or photos you would like to share with the History Group.
