Wildlife enthusiasts have the chance to join a workshop to learn about freshwater creatures.
Yorkshire Wildlife Trust, on Saturday 11 May, will run the Wild Workshop from 10.30am to 3.30pm.
Participants can explore the variety of freshwater invertebrates that live in the Pocklington Canal.
Those interested in the workshop can meet at the lock at Coates Bridge, north of Bielby. Grid ref. SE785452, and collect samples from various habitats within the canal.
After a lunch the group will head for a visit to the Department of Biology at the University of York.
