A TEAM of solicitors are preparing to embark on a 30-mile charity walk from Pocklington in aid of local charity, Hearing Dogs for Deaf People.
The 30 strong group from Williamsons Solicitors, who have offices in Hull, Bridlington and Driffield, will take part in the gruelling challenge on 8 September and hope to raise in excess of £5,000.
The sponsored walk, which is part of the Chalkland Challenge Walk, will start and end at Pocklington Scout Hut taking participants through the villages of Great Givendale, Bishop Wilton, Thixendale and Millington.
There is also an easier 16 mile and 3 mile route for those in favour of a more leisurely challenge.
Jane Longhorn, senior solicitor at Williamsons, said: “There are a few people at work who are connected in some way to Hearing dogs for deaf People so we thought with it being a good local cause that they should benefit.
“I have been doing a bit of training for the walk, I don’t think 30 miles is something you can just do on a whim.
“Sometimes you just have to put yourself out a bit and do something special to help worthwhile causes such as this.”
