It was party time in Wilberfoss at the weekend.
A Party in the Park was held on Sunday at the village’s playing fields and pavilion, off Storking Lane.
Residents were invited to bring their picnic or barbecue and refreshments. The event featured live music throughout the afternoon and evening, trade stalls, bouncy castle and slide, children’s fun fair, free to join in drumming session and archery. Other attractions included vintage cars and giant garden games.
About 500 people attended the village’s inaugural Party in the Park.
Paul Gibney, vice chairman of the Wilberfoss, Kexby and Newton Playing Fields Association, which organised the event, said: “It was really well attended. We did something similar when it was the Queen’s Jubilee a couple of years ago but this is the first event headlined Party in the Park. I would think it would be an annual event now.”
The event raised more than £1,000 for the Playing Fields Association’s funds.
