Nashville singer-songwriter Gretchen Peters has been added to Pocklington Arts Centre’s summer programme of live events.

Gretchen Peters’ performance on the PAC stage on Friday 15 June replaces her previously announced appearance at the now cancelled Beverley Folk Festival.

James Duffy, venue manager at PAC, said: “We are delighted to be able to welcome such a world renowned artist as Gretchen Peters to our already busy summer programme of live events.

“It means that those fans who were perhaps left disappointed by the cancellation of this year’s Beverley Folk Festival won’t necessarily have to miss out on seeing Gretchen perform live in this corner of the world after all.

“Our summer programme is now looking busier than in previous years and features a truly diverse range of live events, covering a variety of genres, ensuring there is something for everyone.”

For two decades Gretchen has been one of Nashville’s most beloved and respected artists, having been inducted into the Nashville Songwriters Hall of Fame in October 2014 by singer-songwriter Rodney Crowell, who has described her as: “Both a songwriter and a poet (who) sings as beautifully as she writes”.

Gretchen has accumulated accolades as a songwriter for artists as diverse as Etta James, Bonnie Raitt, The Neville Brothers, Patty Loveless, George Strait, Bryan Adams and Faith Hill.

The evening’s special guest will be Kim Richey.
