Rugby clubhouse to open

PLAYERS, staff and supporters of Pocklington RUFC have a cause to celebrate as the club will officially open their new clubhouse next week.

A number of civic, Yorkshire and England rugby union officials will be attending a formal party for the opening ceremony on Saturday, 26 March.

The club is hoping for a bumper turnout of Pocklington supporters to join in the celebrations.

On the day, there will be a tour of the facility at 12 noon, the opening ceremony is scheduled for 1pm and a junior rugby curtain-raiser will follow before the main event – Pocklington 1st XV v Leodiensian, which kicks off at 3pm.

Finishing touches to the seven-month project are still being completed. The new complex consists of six changing rooms, a new kitchen, physio suite and upstairs utility rooms.

The facility has been in use for the past few weeks, both for senior and junior games and for private hire social functions.
