Record numbers set for polo championships

Record numbers of polo teams are set to converge on the White Rose Polo Club in North Cliffe at the weekend for the North of England’s biggest polo tournament.

The Yorkshire Open Polo Championships, now in their sixth year, sees players from across the country putting their skills to the test.

Tony Wesche, polo manager and coach at White Rose Polo Club, said: “We have teams travelling from across the country to compete at this year’s Yorkshire Open Polo Championships.

“We are really excited about the standard this year; visitors will be treated to a fantastic display of great horsemanship, superb ability and sheer determination. It’s going to be an exciting weekend.”
