The NHS health trainer service will be promoting dementia awareness throughout this week at all office locations throughout the East Riding as part of Dementia Awareness Week (15-21 May).
Free NHS health checks are offered to people aged between 40 and 74 years. The five-yearly checks are available at some GP practices, pharmacies, council leisure centres and by the health trainers. As well as dementia, the checks will assess a person’s risk of developing diabetes, heart disease, kidney disease and stroke.
