Drinkers had barrels of fun at the ninth annual Bubwith Beer Festival last Saturday.
Held at the Bubwith Centre, the festival is the main fundraising event for the tennis club.
A spokesperson for the event said: “The evening was excellent with a great atmosphere throughout. The real ale lasted up to midnight so no wastage!”
The most popular ale was Hophead from the Dark Star Brewery. The auction prizes under the supervision of local auctioneer Ian Screeton were a huge success with a lucky couple from the East Riding off to races in York next May and a group of ladies off to La Manga in Spain playing tennis next year.
The spokesperson added: “Thanks must go to Jon Longthorp and Shaun Pinchbeck and all the committee members and volunteers for their tireless work in the months and weeks running up to Saturday night. Thanks must also be passed on to Louise Smith from The Jug and Bottle Off Licence and Delicatessen in Bubwith who helped set up the bar and source all 12 real ales and five perries and ciders.”
All proceeds go to the maintenance of Bubwith Tennis Club’s three artificial grass courts. The event is organised by a sub-committee of the Bubwith Tennis Club.
