Award winning real ales, international rugby and live jazz will all be on the menu for this weekend’s annual Sutton Beer Festival.
Woodhouse Grange Cricket Club has again teamed up with Sutton upon Derwent village hall committee to organise the festival, which is now in its fifth year and has become a popular fixture on the local social calendar.
A dozen cask beers, several from award winning local brewers, will be on offer; while there will be a selection of bottled ciders, wines and soft drinks. Hot snack food will also be available.
Martin Smith, commercial manager at Woodhouse Cricket Club, said: “The Sutton Beer Festival has quickly established itself as a great day and night out, and we’ve got an excellent selection of beers lined up plus something for everyone on the entertainment front.”
The event, which takes place at Sutton upon Derwent village hall on Saturday March 18, gets underway at 2pm.
International rugby is on the big screen during the afternoon with France v Wales at 2.45pm followed by Ireland v England at 5pm. The rugby is followed by live music as local jazz quartet, ‘The Jazz Magicians’, take over for the evening.
Tickets cost £5 and include a special commemorative programme and glass.
