RECORD numbers of visitors raised their glasses at the third annual Pocktober-fest.
More than 160 people enjoyed the atmosphere at Pocklington Arts Centre and celebrated the beer festival, which coincides with Oktoberfest in Germany.
Robin Marsden, one of the organisers of Pocktoberfest, said: "A total of 19 casks and three ciders were sampled throughout the day. Visitors pitched their abilities against the brewing experts in a competition to identify the key taste characteristics of two beers from the Brown Cow Brewery in Selby.
"The winners of a bottle of bubbly are Tom Danby, Dave Williams and Louise Tinsleys. They most closely picked out the tastes of fruity floral citrus with tangerine highlights for Apollo Ale, and pine lemon spicy undertones for Tornade Ale."
The day raised 1,100 which will go towards Round Table fund-raising efforts for the year. These proceeds will be split between the Yorkshire Air Ambulance Appeal and the Pocklington Canal Amenity Society.
Robin said: "Round Table thanks the Friends of Pocklington Arts Centre again for their help in running this relaxed and friendly day.
Pocklington and Market Weighton Round Table meets every fortnight for fun, friendship and fundraising, for men between 18 and 45, and their partners also meet fortnightly as Ladies Circle".
