MANY locals got into the Halloween spirit and had a fang-tastic time.
Staff at the Co-operative supermarket on George Street, Pocklington, got dressed up in spooky costumes and raised money for Mencap, a charity which supports people with learning disabilities. They sold cupcakes and held a raffle with two Halloween hampers up for grabs. Altogether, they made £160 for the charity.
Lyndhurst Day Nursery in Pocklington dressed up in Halloween costumes and took part in a Meg and Mog animal handling workshop run by the company Zoolab, which travels to schools across the UK teaching children about different animals.
The youngsters were shown, and had the opportunity to touch, various creatures including a snake, a scorpion and a rat. At Blue Sky Day Nursery in Market Weighton, children carved out pumpkins and drew Halloween pictures while in fancy dress.
