A cat charity’s homing centre opened its doors to the public on Easter Monday, giving cat-loving residents a chance to see about a dozen of furry felines needing a new home.
Caring for Cats held an open day at its centre on York Road in Market Weighton. As well as giving people a chance to see all the cats, the centre had a car wash, book stall and tombola to raise money for Caring for Cats. In addition, refreshments and cat products were on sale.
More than £400 was raised for the charity.
Ros Nicholl, a volunteer for the charity, said: “We had a very good turnout. We are really pleased with the response from the public.”
