Hundreds came out to celebrate their county at the weekend as the Mile Farm Shop in Pocklington, held a special Yorkshire Day celebration.
Around 250 excited visitors, filled with Yorkshire pride, came to toast the best of what the county has to offer and to enjoy a range of fun activities.
Bouncy castles, face painting, pony rides, a cake stall and even a Yorkshire pudding competition kept visitors entertained as the weather stayed fine throughout.
The event also showcased the best local produce, and a BBQ using locally reared meat proved particularly popular.
Jo Florence, co-owner of the Mile Farm Shop, said: “We are proud to be from Yorkshire, it’s God’s own county, so we were really pleased to celebrate the best of what we have to offer.
“This is the first time we’ve held a Yorkshire Day celebration and it far exceeded our expectations. We had so may people here and lots came on their bikes or walked.
“i think we’ll hold it again next year and hopefully make it bigger and even better. We’re even thinking of getting in a famous chef to do judging next time.”
