A glittering occasion at tonight’s tourism Oscars

A glittering occasion will see 500 people attend the presentation of the Remarkable East Yorkshire Tourism Awards (the REYTAs) at the Spa in Bridlington tonight.

The black tie dinner has attracted more entries than ever before and this year’s sell-out event also sets new attendance records.

The REYTAs, organised by tourism partnership Visit Hull and East Yorkshire (VHEY), is an annual celebration of excellence for an industry that contributes in excess of £771m annually to the local economy.

The Pocklington Post is sponsoring one of the categories – Remarkable Holiday Park/Holiday Village.

The dinner at the Spa will have the theme Great events in Great Bridlington and see Elvis impersonator Steve Caprice, organiser of the Elvis Weekender festival, which draws hundreds of devoted fans to the resort every year, greeting guests as they arrive.

Andy Gray, tourism manager for REYTAs organisers Visit Hull and East Yorkshire, said: “We’re aiming to make this our best night ever at what we think is the best venue on the East Coast.”

After a drinks reception, guests can look forward to a three-course meal showcasing some of the best Yorkshire produce available.

Head over to our website www.pocklingtonpost.co.uk tonight to find out the winners.
