A BRICK was thrown through a shop window in Stamford Bridge and wine stolen from inside.

Police have released a CCTV image of a man they are looking for in connection with the incident which happened at approximately 2am on Wednesday 11 January at the May News shop in The Square.

The newsagents was closed when the offender approached from the front and used a brick to smash the double glazed front window.

Once inside the shop, he stole four bottles of wine to the value of about £25 and left.

The suspect is described as a white man, aged in his early 20s, 6ft tall, slim build, wearing a dark jacket and a red beanie style hat, black tracksuit bottoms with a stripe down the side, black trainers and carrying a black Umbro rucksack on his back.

Anyone who knows who is responsible, recognises the description of the offender or saw anything suspicious in the area at the time is asked to contact Humberside Police on 101 quoting log 28 of 11 January 2012.
