POLICE are seeking witnesses following an accosting in Anlaby on the evening on Tuesday September 4.
A 15-year-old local girl was walking along Pryme Street in Anlaby between 9.15pm and 9.30pm when a dark coloured car, described as an old style Vauxhall Astra, or similar vehicle, pulled up alongside her. The car had blacked out windows, five doors and silver coloured alloys.
A police spokeswoman said: “The driver of the car was a white man, aged 45 to 50 years, with short hair which was almost shaved, stubble on his face and spoke with a local accent described as “posh”.
“He drove up alongside the girl and asked her if she wanted to go for a drive.
The girl walked off and went straight home to report the matter to her parents who then rang the police.
“Officers attended the location where the car was seen and conducted an area search but did not find the car or driver.
“The girl was not hurt and it is not clear what the intentions of the driver were so police would like to speak to him or to anyone else who was in the area at the time and has information that may assist.”
The driver or other witnesses are asked to contact Humberside Police on the non emergency number 101 referring to log 744 of 04 September 2012.
