The Pocklington and District branch of the British Heart Foundation is appealing for players to enter its Annual Golf Day.

Now in its fifth year the golf day continues to attract players from as far afield as Newcastle to participate in a fun day to raise funds for the foundation.

This year the event will take place on Friday 17 June at The Oaks Golf Club in Aughton, near York.

Sheila Nutt of The Oaks Golf Club said: “We are always happy to support charities at The Oaks. The Oaks are very proud to host this BHF fundraising day as it is such an important charity. The golfers who took part last year said it had been a very enjoyable day on a first class course and good value for money.”

The golf day is open to teams of four gents, four ladies or mixed teams in am-am format with two to count.

The event is Stableford scoring with a ¾ handicap allowance. As well as a round of golf on one of the finest courses in the area, teams will get; coffee and a bacon sandwich on arrival, a half-way house and pie chips and peas to follow with the presentation of prizes.

The price for all of the above is £140 per team.
