Pocklington Dolphins ASC holds sessions at East Riding Leisure Francis Scaife.

Pocklington Dolphins ASC is looking for new swimmers to join the club, especially youngsters.

The Dolphins is a competitive club which has approximately 75 members.

It currently offers up to three swimming sessions a week, coached by the fully qualified team members. These are held at East Riding Leisure Francis Scaife, including school holidays, on Monday, Thursday and Friday and also Saturday and Sunday afternoons.

The club also trains at Pocklington Grammar School’s facility on Tuesdays from 7.15pm.

A spokesman for the Dolphins said: “We are hoping to attract keen swimmers, especially 7-8 year olds, but there is no limit regarding the age of new members.

“If you would like to find out more please contact head coach Kev Pickering at [email protected] or membership secretary Rachel Pickering at [email protected] btinternet.com.

“You will then be able to attend a trial night and be part of a club which has been running for over 55 years.”

The club was established on August 4, 1965, at the Francis Scaife Sports Centre.

Since that time many records have been set, and continue to be broken, showing the determination and dedication of its members.

In 2019, the club gained the SwimMark accreditation.

The cost of joining the club is either £10 or £30 a month.
