Firefighters called to Kexby house fire

Firefighters from the Pocklington and Market Weighton stations were called to a fire at the old toll bridge house at Kexby last Thursday evening at around 11.50pm.

The service sent two engines from Pocklington Fire Station and two more from Market Weighton to deal with the major blaze.

Crews from Huntington and Calvert Lane Fire Station in Hull were also involved.

An investigation into the cause of the blaze is underway.

A Humberside Fire and Rescue Service spokesman said the fire started in an upstairs bedroom and spread to the rest of the house.

They added that no-one was inside the property at the time of the fire.
