Comedian Andy Parsons heads to PAC next year
Pocklington Arts Centre (PAC) has secured a new date for comedian Andy Parsons.
It will be the comic’s longest tour but when it finally resumes the acclaimed comedian, whose TV appearances include Live at the Apollo, QI, and Mock the Week, will be live at PAC early next year.
Parsons, who has multiple awards and TV appearances to his name, will bring his extended ‘Healing the Nation’ tour to PAC on Thursday, February 3, 2022.
And while the irony of the show’s title, coming just after venues re-open their doors to the public, is not lost on Parsons, he says the latest re-write is his favourite to date.
He said: “I was in the middle of a UK Tour when theatres had to close due to lockdown – and the tour was called Healing The Nation.
“It will turn out to be the longest tour ever, taking three years to complete, and as the tour has gone on there’s been less and less healing and more and more of the opposite.
“Admittedly, I could have changed the title but it still seems strangely appropriate – and some of the gigs have been rescheduled so it would prove confusing to existing ticketholders if the ticket said ‘Healing The Nation’ but the show was now called ‘My Life In Ballet’.
“So we have the serially rewritten Healing the Nation Tour 2019/20 due to popular demand, but also mainly lack of open theatres. And with negative powers of healing. Yet this latest version of the show is my favourite so far.”
Tickets for Andy Parson’s show at PAC are £15 each, on sale now at www.pocklingtonartscentre.co.uk
