The Pocklington Post has teamed up with a Market Weighton newsagent to give away goodies with every copy of the people’s paper sold at the shop.

Last week, every customer who bought a copy of the new-style Pocklington Post at The Paper Shop, on Market Place, received a free pack of Taylors of Harrogate coffee.

Lionel Cashin, 70, who owns and runs the shop with his wife Yvonne, said: “It is good to team up with the Pocklington Post

“We will put the coffee on the actual counter with the paper so everyone sees it and we will be talking to them about the re-launched Pocklington Post.”

Mr Cashin has praised the recent improvements to the Pocklington Post, with our new range of features and news contributions from readers.

He said: “I think it is innovative. Innovation is what is going to make sure papers have a future.

“I particularly like the youth column and the idea of giving young people a voice.”

Claire Wardle, retail sales manager for the Pocklington Post, added: “We are delighted that a key retailer like The Paper Shop in Market Weighton is backing the new-look Pocklington Post.

“Their customers enjoyed Taylors of Harrogate coffee when purchasing the new-look paper last week. Look out for more giveaways at The Paper Shop in the coming weeks.”
