BBC Radio York recently broadcast their Cake and a Cuppa afternoon show, hosted by Adam Tomlinson and Anna Wallace, from Stamford Bridge Village Hall.

The show tours the region in an attempt to combat loneliness and no-one could have been lonely in the warm atmosphere that was generated when more than 200 people came through the doors over the two and a half hours the hall was open.

A spokesman said: “The presenters were amazed at the number of people there. The volunteers manning the kitchen and cake tables were kept busy the entire time.”
