Packed programme planned for Pocklington’s Christmas Festival

Pocklington Town Council will be hosting the annual Christmas Festival next Wednesday (5 December).

The festival will feature the Hayton Tractor being towed through the town at 5pm

During the event there will be live music from The Beautiful House Martin while Minster FM will be on the stage outside Barclay’s Bank.

There will be various market stalls for visitors to enjoy and pick up festive gifts.

In addition to the festivities there will be a best dressed window competition.

There are 12 naughty elves hiding in the windows of shops and businesses in the town centre for people to find.

Entry forms are available from the town council. Closing date for entries is Monday 24 December.

Meanwhile, the Christmas Tree Festival will be held in All Saint’s Church Pocklington until Sunday 9 December.

There’s the chance to see the different trees decorated by the various local businesses and charities.

The popular festival ends with ‘Carols with the Mayor’ on the Sunday from 2pm.

Everybody is most welcome to have a sing-song, enjoy the trees, and finish off the event with mulled wine and mince pies.
