A Pocklington nursery has raised an impressive £2,000 for charity after holding a fundraising event with a variety of activities.
Lyndhurst Day Nursery held the fundraiser in aid of Cancer Research UK.
There were a wide range of attractions during the event, including several stalls, bouncy castle, coconut shy, hook-a-duck and tombola.
The nursery also held a silent auction, which raised £510. There were a number of prizes up for grabs, including a gyrocopter flight, glider flight, designer earrings, a Tim Bulmer print and four corporate hospitality tickets to a Leeds United game with meals.
Local businesses donated the gifts and prizes.
Pocklington town crier Geoff Sheasby promoted the event in the town.
Wendy Cuffling, deputy manager at the nursery, said: “It was really busy. The feedback from parents was that it was a fantastic day. The amount raised is testament to how generous parents were on the day.”
