Parents and carers of children starting infant, junior and primary schools in September 2015 have been told which school their child will be attending.
This year, 3,454 applicants living in the East Riding of Yorkshire applied for 2015/16 places at infant, junior and primary schools, and 95.6 per cent (3,303) got their first choice of school.
A total of 35 of the 123 primary, infant and junior schools are oversubscribed.
Of the 2,974 who applied for reception places at infant and primary schools, 97.9 per cent got a place at a school which parents had named as one of their three preferred schools on their application form.
Kevin Hall, East Riding of Yorkshire Council’s director of children, families and schools, said: “In the East Riding we have been able to ensure that all children have been provided with a school place and I’m pleased to say that more than nine out of 10 parents have been offered the school place that they wanted for their children”.
