Youngsters in Pocklington can now enjoy playing outdoors even more after new goal posts and a new nest swing were installed on play areas in the town.
The goal posts have been installed on a green space on the Broadmanor estate, and a nest swing is now ready to use at the Victoria Road park.
Funds for the equipment were raised by Pocklington Play Area Group, which is an independent group that works to provide spaces for the town’s children to play.
The group used some of the funds raised from car boot sales last year on West Green and a donation from Pocklington under 14’s football team to pay for the goal posts, which cost £1,711.
Other funds raised from the car boot sales and a donation from Pocklington Rotary Club helped pay for the £5,142 nest swing.
Jane Jackson, a member of the Play Area Group, said: “I have not been down to see the nest swing yet, but I know people that have said it is lovely.
“The goal posts are well used and look really good.”
