Pocklington District Lions successfully presented It’s a Pockout 2017 which was held at Pocklington Sports and Social Club football fields on bank holiday Monday in August.
The event was a huge success with more than 2,000 people attending throughout the day.
The event was in aid of charity and in 2017 there were four beneficiaries namely: Second Thoughts East Yorkshire, Cruse Bereavement, Sue Ryder and Pocklington Relief in Need and each charity benefited to the tune of £1,500 since the whole event raised £6,000.
Next year, It’s a Pockout 2018 will be staged at the same venue on Saturday 18 August.
The Lions hope it will be a bigger event than 2017, and the group wants the communities of Pocklington, Market Weighton and surrounding areas to be instrumental in making a difference.
The Lions is asking residents to nominate a charity or community group that they feel would benefit from next year’s It’s a Pockout.
A Lions spokesman said: “Anyone can nominate any charity or community group.
“After all nominations have been received we will be asking the community to vote for their favourite and the top two will be selected for 2018.
“If you are involved in a local community group or charity or know of any email firstname.lastname@example.org and tell them all about it.
“Please pass this information on to anyone you think would be interested and share.
“The closing date for nominations is midnight 17/12/17.”
Email email@example.com with your charity nominations.
