Music on the Wolds event raises more than £1,600

A music event near Pocklington has raised more than £1,600 for charity.

Macmillan Cancer Care’s Market Weighton branch and British Heart Foundation’s Pocklington and District branch held a ‘Music on the Wolds’ event at Low Warrendale Farm, in Kilnwick Percy.

The marquee in the barn was provided by Robert, Elizabeth and Christopher Bird. Both committees provided a sit down meal with Peter Winterton playing the piano as guests arrived.

Singer Livvy Rooks performed a selection of melodies and to finish the evening Anna Hughes and Jonathan Taylor had people’s feet tapping to a range of Irish country music. £1,650 was raised for both charities and the committees would like to thank Robert, Elizabeth and Christopher and their extended family, everyone that attended and supported the event together with the people who gave up their time to perform.
