Pocklington Arts Centre has announced there will be 16 screenings of The Second Best Exotic Marigold Hotel at the venue over the next fortnight.
The film, featuring a star-studded cast including Judi Dench, Bill Nighy and Dev Patel, will be screened from tomorrow to 12 March.
The Best Exotic Marigold Hotel was released on the same weekend in February 2012 and went on to gross over £20million at the UK box office.
James Duffy, assistant manager at Pocklington Arts Centre, said: “The Best Exotic Marigold Hotel was the venue’s most popular film of 2012 and we anticipate its sequel will attract similar size audiences when its opens on Friday. Advance sales are going well with 300-plus tickets already purchased. We are advising people to plan and book in advance.”
In celebration of the film and inspired by her recent trip to India, artist Adrienne French has produced a range of vibrant greetings cards as part of her exhibition in the studio at the Arts Centre. India is the inspiration of the moment, not only with the Marigold sequel, but also with the new Channel 4 drama series Indian Summer.
