A driver sustained serious injuries after a crash on the A1079.
The collision happened in the early hours of the morning last Saturday, approximately 300 metres east of Kexby Bridge.
A black Ford Fiesta was travelling east along the road shortly after 3am when the driver is believed to have lost control, leaving the carriageway and striking some trees and a fence at the roadside.
No other vehicles were involved in the incident.
The driver of the Fiesta, a 26-year-old York man, sustained serious internal injuries and was taken to Leeds General Infirmary where he remains in a serious condition.
The front seat passenger, a 22-year-old York woman, suffered minor injuries. The two people travelling in the rear of the car, a 26-year-old man and a 21-year-old woman, both from the York area, were uninjured.
Anyone who witnessed the incident or saw the car travelling along the A1079 prior to it colliding is asked to contact Humberside Police on the non-emergency number 101, referring to log 89 of 18 October 2014.
