Police are appealing for information after a motorcyclist died following a collision near Stamford Bridge.

Officers attended the scene on Buttercrambe Road at around 4.15pm yesterday (Sunday September 25).

The motorbike rider was a man in his late 30s who received medical attention at the scene but, sadly, was pronounced dead.

Police are not yet in a position to name him and investigations are today continuing.

Two men from West Yorkshire were arrested in connection with the incident and released on bail while investigations continue.

The collision involved a grey and yellow Yamaha motorbike and black Honda saloon car.

Nearby roads were closed to allow emergency services to tend to the incident.

Police want to hear from anyone who witnessed the incident or saw the vehicles involved in the run-up to the collision.
