Two very successful fund raising events have been held by the Catholic Church of St Mary and Joseph’s Church in Pocklington over the last two weekends.
The church is raising money for the Catholic Primary School in Pocklington, which is hoping to find funds for a new school hall.
On Sunday 5 June, church members held a Parish BBQ, which, together with an excellent raffle, raised the brilliant total of £1,000. On Sunday 12 June, the church held one of the popular car boot sales on West Green which raised a further £300.
A spokesman said: “Special thanks go to Father Michael Sellers for letting us use the parish grounds and having a Bouncy Castle in his garden, and to Joanna Powaga who masterminded the planning.”
