Mission accomplished for British Legion branch

The Pocklington branch of The Royal British Legion has smashed its previous Poppy Appeal fundraising record.

The branch has raised a staggering £16,338 for this year’s appeal, beating its record of £12,100 by a huge £4,200.

The group has another reason to celebrate after attracting five new members. Last month, the Pocklington Post revealed that the branch could face closure if it was unable to attract new members.
