A Pocklington man has denied a charge of rape and elected a trial before a jury in June next year.
David Farthing, 35, made a 10-minute appearance in the dock of court one at Hull Crown Court (on Thursday October 20) charged with the rape of a woman on March 28 2015.
Farthing, of Union Street, Pocklington, pleaded not guilty as the charge was put to him by the court clerk.
He left the talking to defence barrister Patricia Docherty who set out the timetable for the case.
Judge Mark Bury ordered Farthing to stand as he told him he must attend for trial at Hull Crown Court on June 26 next year or he would be committing a separate criminal offence for which he could be punished.
He was released on bail.
