Plans to carry out major improvements to the A1079 by dualling a one-mile stretch between Barmby Moor and Wilberfoss have suffered a major setback.
East Riding Council secured £8million of funding from the York, North Yorkshire and East Riding Local Enterprise Partnership in January 2015 towards the scheme. However, following site surveys and detailed investigations, it has been established that the dualling scheme will cost significantly more than the £14million originally anticipated.
Subsequently, it has been agreed that £6.3million of the £8million can be utilised to deliver capacity improvements at Killingwoldgraves and Dunswell roundabouts on the A1079, near Beverley.
