Pupils at Bishop Wilton Primary School were given a living history lesson when they travelled to Murton Park recently.

The school’s KS2 class met up with Key Stage 2 classes from across the Wolds Federation to take part in a Roman activity day at the popular venue.

The children had the chance to dress up as auxiliary Roman soldiers and learnt the skills that would be needed in combat during the hands-on history lesson.

A spokesman for the school said: “The children really enjoyed themselves.

“It was a fantastic trip.”
