The Nottinghamshire and Lincolnshire Air ambulance were delighted to accept a cheque of over £2,000 this week, raised at a charity golf day by Pocklington Lions Club.
The Cheque was accepted by Ian Mousette, a pilot with the Nottinghamshire and Lincolnshire Air Ambulance Service, in recognition of the services of the Air Ambulance, at a ‘Presidents at home’ social meeting earlier this month.
The £2,017 donation was raised during a golf day at Allerthorpe Golf club in memory of Ian Steel, a former Lions Club President, who died in a boating accident in January.
The Nottinghamshire and Lincolnshire Air Ambulance rescued Ian Steel and Neville Payne when their boat overturned while fishing in the River Trent, though sadly Ian died in Hospital.
Speaking after the golf day, Ian’s Partner, Sandie Welsh, said: “Everyone was very supportive of the cause. Ian would have been amazed and proud of the support.”
In addition to the donation, the lions Club presented the Nottinghamshire and Lincolnshire Air Ambulance with a friendship bannerette and a certificate of appreciation in recognition of their services.
