It was good of Sir Greg Knight to be so honest about his Conservative Party when he records that he felt that nationally their campaign was poor.
I was delighted that he was returned to Parliament albeit with an increased majority. He is a man who puts words into actions, and when I was chairman of our local Stamford Bridge in Bloom group he often gave us great support.
When I served on the local parish council in the early 2000s, we came up against a great deal of opposition in our attempts to stop the devastating floods which assailed us.
At one stage I suggested to our chairman that we should seek the support of Sir Greg, our MP. Within days he came to see us, and the following week brought our plight up in Parliament.
In 2004 our flood wall opened and apart from the odd slight leaks has kept Stamford Bridge free.
Many thanks Sir Greg for your superb support, and do come and see our lovely flower displays which have brought us two golds in recent Yorkshire in Bloom awards. We are proud of our efforts by our team of volunteers.
