The know your blood pressure event organised by Pocklington Rotary club at the Arts Centre on Saturday 22 April was well supported.
Fifty-eight people had their blood pressure checked by nurses from the Pocklington group practice and 12 of these were asked to follow this up in the future, while 46 were informed no further action was required.
Last year 20 out of 57 needed referring so it looks as if the message is getting across.
This was the 13th year the Rotary Club has taken part in this event.
Each year the identification of high blood pressure and consequent treatment to lower it helps reduce the likelihood of a stroke.
The Rotary Club would like to thank all who helped to publicise and run this event.
