I was one of those who perhaps unwittingly voted for Cllr Strangeway, one of the Pocklington members on the East Riding of Yorkshire Council possibly confused by what was then a surge in popularity for Independents brought about largely by the UKIP effort.
Today, UKIP is virtually non-existent and the usefulness of independent councillors is again brought into question.
In the case of Cllr Strangeway, I would like to know why he is spending so much of his time against the council and its leadership team?
East Riding is one of the best performing councils in the country.
Complaints against fellow members and officers have no bearing on his role as a local ward representative.
