Residents are invited to attend an open day in Stamford Bridge on Saturday to have a peek at the village’s past.
Organised by the Battle of Stamford Bridge Society, the event will look at the history and customs of the village and surrounding area, as well as raise awareness of the society.
Local traditions will be revived, childrens competitions will take place, and local heritage, historical and archaeological groups will be attending. Meanwhile, a new flower planter is being unveiled near the village bridge.
The event, at the village hall from 10am to 5pm, is free to enter.
