The West Wolds Branch of the Labour Party organised a street stall on Pocklington Market Place on Saturday 21 April to draw attention to the worsening crisis in the National Health Service.

Leaflets were handed out highlighting the branch’s opposition to York health bosses’ rationing of non-urgent operations using body mass index readings and smoking as the criteria for restricting surgery.

Party chairman Richard Bryon said: “We all need a strong, well-funded and confident NHS that can be relied upon to provide the care we need, when we need it.”
