Kiplingcotes Derby - England’s oldest horse race

An engaged couple galloped to glory at the 495th Kiplingcotes Derby today.

Tracey Corrigan, 52, won with her horse ‘Willy’, while her fiancé Richard Mumford claimed the runner-up spot on ‘Bob’.

The couple travelled from Sawdon near Scarborough to enter the historic four-mile race, near Market Weighton, for the first time.

Hundreds of people flocked to the event and gathered near the finish at Londesborough Wold Farm to cheer the horses past the winning post.

15-year-old Willy is now going to be retired after his success.
