A Pocklington woman completed a hair-raising feat for the Little Princess Trust charity while marking her 40th birthday.
Ruth Jackson had her locks chopped at the Austin Charles hair salon in Pocklington and has donated the hair to the trust to make a wig. She also managed to raise enough to pay for another child’s wig by bringing in an extra £435 as part of her kindest cut.
Ruth said: “I wanted to do something that would help others. I had heard about the Little Princess Trust through a neighbour. This is a fantastic charity that makes wigs for children suffering from hair loss, the majority as a result of chemotherapy treatment for cancer. A big thank you goes to Austin Charles who gave up their time for free.”
