Have you ever wanted to gain an insight into the life of a senior ranking politician?

Pocklington Arts Centre is giving audiences the opportunity to do just that when former home secretary Alan Johnson appears on stage at the venue later this month.

In ‘An Audience with Alan Johnson’ the former Hull MP and award winning author will give a rare insight into his political life, followed by a question and answer session.

He will follow in the footsteps of other high ranking politicians who have appeared at the venue, such as Paddy Ashdown, Anne Widdecombe and Michael Portillo.

The event will take place on Wednesday 23 May at 7.30pm.

Mr Johnson said: “I am very much looking forward to meeting the people of Pocklington and sharing with them some anecdotes from my life.”

James Duffy, venue manager, said: “Having a former senior ranking political figure like Alan Johnson appear at PAC further enhances our incredibly varied ongoing programme of live events and I am sure it will make for a unique, interesting and, judging from reviews of similar appearances he has done elsewhere in the country.”

Tickets cost £14 and are available from the arts centre website at www.pocklingtonartscentre.co.uk or by calling the Box Office on 01759 301547.
