Hundreds of people flocked to Wilberfoss Community Centre at the weekend for an exhibition and book launch held as part of a long-running community project.
The Wilberfoss Jubilee Project was set up in March last year by a small group of villagers from Wilberfoss to mark the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee.
Since then, the project’s organising committee, with the support of the parish council, has developed an historical archive with profiles of residents and a range of photographs charting life in the village during 2012.
In addition, members of the committee have produced a 150-page book called ‘Tales of Wilberfoss Old and New’, packed with insights into village history, recollections of life in the jubilee year and many photographs.
